EXPLORE OUR WAREHOUSE EXPANSION PROJECT
Last year we set out on a warehouse expansion project for a simple reason: more space to accommodate the needs of our growing customer base. The plan was to double the size of the Browns Summit headquarters just off the Rocky Creek exit on U.S. 29 to almost 250,000 square feet.
“It’s the result of growth in the packaging arena,” Morrisette told Triad Business Journal. “We just need more warehouse space. We’ll bring everything back under one roof, which will make us more efficient.”
Late in June 2019, we broke ground on a 120,000-square-foot expansion that would tie in to our current facility. Workers moved more than 80,000 cubic yards of soil to clear the land, and the horizontal addition would create 28-foot-high ceilings. This expansion was carefully planned to allow us to continue operating and servicing our customers.
On December 12, 2019, we cut the ribbon and started our first day of operations in the new warehouse.
The result of the new warehouse allowed us to launch a new area of our business under our custom services division – kitting and fulfillment. Our kitting process begins with a conversation around supply chain management. From there, we develop a process that is trainable and repeatable to assemble, collate, kit, and fulfill in-house
The most exciting part about this expansion is the ability to bring new products and solutions to our customers when they need it most. This perfectly positions us for a year of innovation, continued growth, and enhanced customer service.
