What it Does

What is Kitting?

Kitting is a service many companies employ that allows them to group their products into an assembled kit. A kit consists of a variety of SKUs that would normally need to be assembled by a consumer to function properly, but already put together. This process allows someone who may need many of these products to receive whatever product it is that they need already to function as needed. In turn, the client who ordered the kits will save a ton of time and money, as they won’t have to worry about assembly of the product. We at Morrisette can assemble kits that contain pre-made packaging units to house your sold products. Before we talk more on that process, let’s talk about how the assembly of these kits work.

What is Assembly?

Assembly refers to the actual process of putting together whatever is going in the kit. In our case, assembly refers to the process of putting together the packaging units that will ultimately be tailored to hold whatever it is our client sells. Morrisette’s kitting and assembly processes would all take place in the same warehouse, ensuring that each and every packaging unit would be put together precisely as planned without worry and without mistakes. Since we will be doing the assembly of the products ourselves, you can save time and not have to worry about putting together the packaging kits yourself. You also won’t have to worry about having your own employees deal with the assembly process, as it will be our own process to get them together. Before we talk more on Morrisette’s specific kitting and assembly process, we should first discuss what fulfillment is and why it matters to this process as well.

What is Fulfillment?

Fulfillment itself is a term that is used when referring to the process of packing and shipping a product to someone by mail. It’s a term that will come up across the business world as online shopping has become more prevalent than ever. Fulfillment is an all-encompassing term to essentially describe the entire e-commerce outside of just packing and shipping as well. It refers even to receiving orders, picking, and packing, inventory management, shipping, and warehousing. Morrisette has the capability to handle all of these responsibilities for a client, and we do so with precision and accuracy every time. We have the ability to keep track of many of the more tedious parts of being in e-commerce and can help you adjust to the world of packaging and shipping more easily. When it comes to fulfillment, assembly, and kitting Morrisette takes a unique approach to the process that ultimately gives our client an excellent service that is hard to match with other companies like us.

How Will Kitting Benefit My Business?

A good kitting service can benefit any business that is involved in a lot of e-commerce, or just any business that has a lot of packaging needs. Morrisette can help you keep your business on track by delivering your packaging to you all assembled and ready to be shipped out. This may not seem like a lot at first, but you must realize how much time and effort goes into assembling packaging units. Some packaging designs can be fairly difficult to assemble, whether due to many components being involved in the process, or because of the designs themselves just being too complex to be assembled in a timely manner on top of doing everything else that is required in the workplace setting. Our kitting process eliminates the need and worry in regard to packaging. We have the space, money, and workforce to assemble your packaging units under our own roof. It all begins at our corporate location in North Carolina, where we can go directly from designing a packaging unit that fits your needs to prototyping, to finally producing it with our assembly team, all in the same building. With a number of locations across the southeast, and with our certified partners in other locations, we have the ability to set up a supply chain that is tailored to your needs. With all of the resources available to us we can ensure that your supply chain stays stable and supplies consistent packaging that meets your standards and ours. Kitting can give your employees the freedom to focus on the product being made, rather than the packaging and shipping process. This will ensure a better product is making it to your customer, and that your workforce can focus on the important parts of the business. Kitting also can save you money when it comes to your labor force. If you’re having us do the packaging in some kind of deal, then that’s one less team of people that you need to be paying to keep your business moving. There’s also the issue of space. You need somewhere in your facility to actually erect packages and pack them. Morrisette’s kitting process eliminates this need as well, because, as was mentioned, we do all of the kitting on our site. When all is laid down, kitting can really make a difference in any business.
